The SMYAL Executive Director cultivates relationships with a broad constituency and serves as the organization’s primary spokesperson. She also oversees SMYAL’s brand, scales its staffing model, and builds community engagement. The Executive Director is a champion for the LGBTQ+ community, and will be inspired by the opportunity to empower queer youth to reach their full potential. The Executive Director will have a background in youth development and be a great asset for the organization.

The awards are given to high school seniors in California who have shown commitment to the LGBTQ community. The winning student must have been actively involved in raising awareness about LGBT issues, combating homophobia, and educating the community on similar topics. The deadline for applications is May 15, 2014.
The eQuality Scholarship Collaborative also gives out scholarships to students in California who are LGBT or allied. It also supports programs and projects that promote understanding of GLBT individuals and the LGBTQ community. In addition to the scholarships, the eQuality Scholarship Collaborative awards financial support for LGBTQ students who are residents of Orange County.
