As you probably know by now, Duncan Macmillan is a billionaire in real life. Well, not in the traditional sense of the word as he left school with no qualifications at all and has spent his life working hard to get where he is today. But I’m getting off track here. Duncan has always been fascinated with business and money from a young age, so from the moment he was given the chance to work for his uncle’s investment firm in London as an apprentice, he seized it with both hands. In fact, it was so much fun that he worked himself into such high demand that within months he had filled all of his employment commitments and was already moving back to Scotland to help run his family’s successful construction company. For someone who grew up poor, as Duncan did, money couldn’t have come easier for him—at least not until recently when his trust fund ran out after 50 years of paying it forward. But with the help of a good friend who works in the investment industry, Duncan turned that around and started planning for his future again. Now at last able to start building that future for himself and put financial worries behind him once and for all, Duncan is embarking on a journey of a new kind—the Billionaire Diaries: The Story of the Duncan Macmillan Billionaire™ trilogy.

Who is Duncan Macmillan?

Duncan Macmillan is a Scottish industrialist and philanthropist. He is married to Annabelle and they have three children. In 1947, Duncan was 18 years old and a student at Cranbrook School in Bloomfield, New Jersey when he won a scholarship to the University of St Andrews. He studied engineering there for two years and then returned to St. Andrews to complete a PhD in mathematics. Macmillan’s research at St. Andrews formed the basis for his later work as a mathematical equation expert for investment banks. As well as his academic success, Macmillan was also an accomplished athlete, winning the European junior cross-country running championships in 1947. He went on to a successful career in financial management, working for several investment banks, including Lehman Brothers, Credit Suisse First Boston and Goldman Sachs.

The Billionaire Diaries: The Story of the Duncan Macmillan Billionaire™ Trilogy

In his spare time, Duncan has spent the last few years compiling a list of the lucky beneficiaries of his fortune. The first of these is his autobiography, which he is writing with the help of a ghostwriter. The book is entitled The Billionaire Diaries: The Story of the Duncan Macmillan Billionaire™ trilogy and is expected to be published in 2020. Most people know Duncan Macmillan as the billionaire who inherited his money from his uncle, but he has done much more than that. Read on to learn more about the man behind the money.

Where to Begin with the Duncan Macmillan Billionaire Trilogy

The first thing you should probably begin with is a definition of a billionaire. Find out what a billionaire is not—and don’t let the term throw you off. The definition of a billionaire is someone who makes more than $1 billion dollars in a year. So, that’s pretty broad. So, what do you have to do to be a billionaire? Well, to start with, you probably have to work really hard for it. But once you’ve worked really hard, it all comes good in the end. So, the billionaires’ secret is to work hard and be lucky.

Why Start with a Book about a Billionaire?

I’ve always been interested in people who have achieved great things because I think it gives you a better understanding of what it’s like to be a bit less fortunate than you might otherwise be. And the fact that a billionaire has done what he has done because he was born with the right stuff and he worked hard for it can only help to normalize the idea for the general public. Being a billionaire might come as a surprise to some of your friends, but you’re actually in good company. Billionaires tend to comprise a very exclusive bunch. Not only are they usually very rich, but they also tend to beiconic characters who have enriched our culture through a combination of their money and their time.

A Billionaire has all the Answers!

A billionaire has all the answers. They’re probably saving the world or saving their company or saving some critically endangered animal or something equally grandiose. And if that’s not enough for you, just remember that billionaires are the ones who always seem to know what you need—whether it’s for a loan or just advice on how to manage your money better.

Conclusion

The newly self-proclaimed “Billionaire Diaries” author and entrepreneur Duncan Macmillan is ready to share his story with the world.
