Leadership Richardson is a program for leaders that meets once a month from September to May. The classes feature a combination of interactive studies, problem solving, and information, and are designed to foster friendships and connections among its members. Participants must reside or work in Richardson. An anonymous admissions committee chooses the participants, but if you are interested in joining, please contact the Richardson leadership development office. There is a waiting list for the program, so apply early.

Daryl Richardson is the Vice President of Richardson Executive Search and has over 12 years of experience recruiting senior level executives in a variety of industries. He previously spent eighteen years in progressive executive leadership roles for a leading Canadian telecommunications company. Daryl brings over 30 years of experience building high-performing teams in both large and small organizations. He has a deep commitment to junior achievement, and is a board member of the W.H.L. alumni association. He also volunteers with the JR A Mountaineers Lacrosse Team.

Quirk will serve as interim president of the chamber, while continuing to serve as executive director of Leadership Richardson. Prior to joining Leadership Richardson, Quirk was the managing director of Sunwest Communications. She also held various positions at Raytheon and Texas Instruments. In addition to her role with the chamber, she has served on the Richardson ISD school board for nine years. Quirk has served on 20 boards, and is a sought-after executive director for many of them.

Leadership Richardson

Leadership Richardson is a class where participants develop personal and organizational leadership skills. It emphasizes the importance of community and regionalism, and explores community dynamics and challenges. Classes cover seven different topics, including arts and cultural diversity, business and economic development, healthcare, local government and regionalism, public education, and public safety. Quirk will serve as interim president of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, while continuing as executive director of Leadership Richardson. Quirk most recently served as managing director at Sunwest Communications. She also held positions at Raytheon and Texas Instruments in the communications industry. She is also a former member of the Richardson ISD school board, serving for nine years. Quirk has served on more than 20 boards and provided leadership development and strategic planning.

The chamber recently announced several changes to its leadership. Paul Bendel will take over as interim executive director of the Tech Titans, while Doug McDonald will become interim executive director of the Richardson Economic Development Partnership. Bendel previously served as executive director of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce’s Office of Innovation and Placemaking initiatives. In addition, the chamber has a search committee looking for a new executive director. It is expected that the new leader will take over these roles within the quarter.

Courtnie is a graduate of the University of British Columbia. She has worked in client-facing roles and internal recruitment. She joined the Richardson Calgary office in 2015 and is already an expert at building professional relationships. She also works closely with candidates and conducts pre-screen interviews.
