The Harry Kay Leadership Institute is the flagship program of the Center for Jewish Leadership Excellence, which develops emerging leaders for a dynamic and effective future. The institute has a long and successful history, having helped thousands of young Jewish professionals address issues and challenges relevant to the community. The conference has expanded to include new cohorts and the Harry Kay Alumni Network. Below are some of the benefits of participating in this program. Read on to learn more about this dynamic, Jewish leadership development institute.

The Harry Kay Leadership Institute is a thirty-year-old institution based in the Twin Cities, providing support and tools for the next generation of Jewish leaders. The Institute recently led eight young adults to the former Soviet Union to help elderly Jews who are in need. Participants were also introduced to Jewish values and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee’s COVID-19 response. As a result, the Institute is now a hub for Jewish leadership development, with nearly 300 alumni.

The Institute begins with an immersion Shabbaton, which enables participants to connect with each other and get to know each other. During the three-day program, students will have the opportunity to engage with the group while also learning new leadership skills. These sessions are interactive and engaging, and attendees will benefit from the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight from fellow students. Some participants are even asked to serve on the board of directors of a local non-profit, which is a valuable part of this program.
