They are able to clearly and effectively communicate their expectations and find a way to connect with people. – Listening- Great leaders are great listeners. They are able to pick up on cues, hear people’s emotions, and understand their needs. A good leader is always learning and always open to new ideas and opportunities. – Imagination- It’s easy to get stuck in daily routine. Leaders need to have the ability to see beyond what’s happening in front of them and envision the future. A good leader is always thinking about how things can be better, what new things they can do, and what new opportunities there are in the world.
3 Types of Leadership and When they’re Needed
– Command-based leadership- Command-based leaders focus on getting people to do things their way. They set the rules, tell people what they want them to do, and enforce those rules. Command-based leaders need to have a clear idea of how things should be done. They need to be able to enforce rules and standards without being judgmental. – Participative- based leadership- Participative-based leaders focus on getting people to do things together. They focus on building relationships, being nonconfrontational, and using open-ended questions to understand people’s needs and find solutions that work for the whole group. – Autocratic- based leadership- Autocratic-based leaders focus on getting people to do things their way. This type of leadership is usually reserved for a select few and usually doesn’t work well with a team or organization.
